Just one click will have you smiling and feeling great – it did for me! When I first found the Alter Ego Portraits website I loved it instantly. If I wasn’t glued into Manchester I’d be there now, pouting and giggling for a fantastic photoshoot. The lovely Erica can show and tell you more about Alter Ego Vintage Photoshoots than I can, so here she is for an inspiring guest post!

Whoosh. One minute it was Christmas and now, here we are, deep in the heart of wedding season – all in the blink of an eye. Everyone we know who isn’t planning their own big do is picking outfits, debating headwear (de rigueur since Kate & Wills’ do) and snaffling up nude court shoes for their next outing.

However, while the congregation tends to approach wedding-dressing in a fairly conservative manner, the brides we meet tend to all want something truly individual. This is why we love English Wedding, Claire always manages to find something to inspire us – and we were honoured when she invited us to write a guest blog. We’re very lucky to have met many brides here at Alter Ego Studios – all of whom are gorgeous, creative and inspirational themselves.

As well as vintage enthusiasts, quite a few brides choose an Alter Ego Vintage photoshoot over traditional boudoir style photography as they are looking for something as liberating, uplifting and life-affirming – but just a little tongue-in-cheek.

And, as every shoot is bespoke, many brides go for a mixture of both. Almost every shoot includes unique images and, during the summer months, we can also make the most of the beautiful countryside around the studio.

The golden age of glamour

The Alter Ego Vintage photoshoots hark back to the golden age of glamour, with a light-touch, a slick of red lipstick, killer heels and a glimpse of gorgeous lingerie. Unlike other photo experiences on the market, every shoot takes a full four hours and includes at least an hour with our absolutely brilliant (if we say so ourselves) artists who will transform your hair and make-up.

You have exclusive use of the studio and there is plenty of time for set and costume changes. Our team is on hand to keep you confident and comfortable throughout, helping to find the poses which suit you best – so it really is wonderful experience in itself.
